Week 3 challenge update

I have settled into a bit of a routine now and am feeling great. I usually wake up around 5:30 am and either workout or do yoga (or both) before work. If I don’t do this, I go watch the sunrise and do Wim Hof and read some before work. The hardest part is physically standing up out of bed, everything else after is much easier. Just GET UP and get moving, you will feel amazing after you get into a habit I promise.

I have really started to enjoy starting my day this early and LOOK FORWARD to it. I know this sounds crazy, but I am not lying. Instead of sleeping in as long as you can and dragging yourself to work, you can get to work already awake and feeling great. You can also get to work with something productive already accomplished which sets the mood for the rest of your day.

This three month challenge that I made for myself has been an eye opener for me. I have always been somewhat of a morning person, but now I am consistent with waking up way earlier than I ever would choose to before. There is something about being up in this world before the sun, watching it rise, and taking it all in before you start your day. This peaceful time to think and feel grateful for your morning and especially your life is incredibly powerful. Not only that, but I feel more motivated than ever to pursue my dreams and ideas.

What I am struggling with: I find exercising 3 times a week to still be no problem for me because working out is my love (I worked out 8 times this week). On the contrary, the meditation is the hardest for me to get done. I still am learning to sit still, and not feel in a rush. I am a very on-the-go all of the time person. I always want to be doing something. Even though meditating/Wim Hof is doing something, its requires me to stay very still and I struggle with it. This is how I know it’s a great thing for me to work on. Growth only happens out of your comfort zone!

What I recommend and am trying to do myself: Spend time alone with yourself, your thoughts, and your breaths, in a positive manner. Try to not think about anything other than each inhale and exhale…One after the other for at least 5 minutes. When I Wim Hof it has taken me close to 25 minutes, which is a pretty long time to focus on just your breathing. Wim Hof himself states that the best time to do his method is on an empty stomach. I find the morning to be the best time for me to do this. I always feel amazing afterwards and am honestly feeling high off of my own oxygen. Give it a try!

How I keep track: I made these calendars so I can record everything I am doing day by day. I want to hold myself accountable and make sure I do each of them at least 3 times a week. This is because changing habits is hard! You probably understand how hard it really can be. Writing down your goals and having a plan really helps.

If you have any questions about what I am doing, what videos I am following for yoga, what workouts I do, or anything else please comment!
